Abstract: The research aims to reveal the impact of the Woods model and the method used in acquiring soccer refereeing skills among third-year students in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Salah al-Din University.
The sample of the research was identified among third-year students in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Salah al-Din University. They were randomly determined and distributed into two experimental and control groups, and the average distribution of the research sample was confirmed in the arbitration test, which is a prerequisite for extracting results according to the parameter statistics tests. for a search experience.
The research tool consisted of an observation form to evaluate the specific arbitration axes, and the objectivity, validity and reliability of the form were confirmed. The observation was made by three experts in the field of football education. After collecting and processing the data by appropriate statistical means, represented by the (t) test for interconnected and independent samples, the results of the research were obtained, and in the light of which a set of conclusions were drawn, the most important of which are:
1- The members of the experimental group that studied according to the Woods model outperformed the members of the control group that studied according to the method used in the football arbitration test.
2- Teaching according to the Woods model gives equal opportunities to students through their participation in cooperative groups, and thus takes into account individual differences.
In light of the conclusions, the researchers recommend the necessity of adopting the Woods model in teaching football for the third stage in the faculties of physical education and sports sciences because of its significant impact on increasing achievement, acquiring skills and retaining information in the cognitive structure.
