Abstract

The research problem lies in the lack of student engagement with life skills, which prevents them from feeling isolated and hopeless, leading to feelings of loneliness. The researchers focused on life skills suitable for university students. Through reviewing and reading previous sources and studies, they noticed the necessity of finding life skills tailored to the specific health, psychological, and social conditions of students to alleviate feelings of psychological loneliness. The research aimed to identify the degree of psychological loneliness and life skills among the research sample, to understand the relationship between psychological loneliness and life skills among the research sample, and to identify the differences between males and females in the degree of psychological loneliness and life skills among the research sample. The hypotheses suggest that there is a significant correlation between psychological loneliness and life skills.Life skills among the research sample, and there are significant differences between psychological resilience and life skills among the research sample. The temporal scope was from 18/2/2021 to 27/4/2021, and the spatial scope was the University of Baghdad. Methodology: The researchers used the descriptive method with survey, comparative, and correlational research methods. The sample was randomly selected from fourth-year male and female students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences and the College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad, totaling 200 students. The research implementation steps included distributing the psychological resilience scale and the life skills scale, followed by data collection, tabulation, and statistical processing. Conclusion: Significant differences were found in the degree and level of psychological resilience among the research sample, and significant differences were found in the degree of resilience.The psychological and life skills of the research sample. Statistically significant differences in life skills were found for fourth-year female students, and statistically significant differences in life skills were found for the gender variable, with differences favoring females. Neglecting early diagnosis in this age group leads to suicide, and continuous follow-up is necessary. Recommendations: It is essential to work on early detection of disorder symptoms among students, as studies confirm this for students, and to understand the student's feelings, needs, problems, and difficulties they face, and to help them manage their lives, which may be fraught with difficulties, at all levels. Additionally, more studies related to this topic should be conducted.At this stage, reconsidering the student's exposure to all life skills that can alleviate sadness in the student, as well as depressive symptoms and psychological and social disorders, and the freedom to strive in thought, science, and religion. In addition to holding activities and interactive dialogue sessions to share their experiences and abilities.
